Poema de Charles Bukowski que integra 70 minutes in hell (1ª ed.1969), gravação caseira realizada pelo autor de alguns dos seus poemas.
A curta-metragem tem realização e animação de Adam Long a partir de ilustrações de Tom Keating e da gravação do poema por Charles Bukowski.
Sobre a curta-metragem Adam Long diz o seguinte:
"I wanted to make a motion piece based on the poem 'Little Atomic Bomb' by Charles Bukowski... I wanted it to be a letter written to a general by a madman, and we are flying through this insanity represented by frantic but beautiful looking drawings like Ralph Steadman's. My friend and Portland artist Tom Keating created the bomb girl, pig bomb, and inked the initial plane. The horse and women dancing are both Muybridge photos inked over, the flower pot is ink spots, and the initial bomb is an old photo of 'Fat Man' covered in ink, the final mushroom cloud is ink in a tub of milk."
Uma curta metragem de animação que tive o prazer de descobrir no youtube após sugestão da minha irmã de um outro video que ilustra o mesmo poema de Bukowski. A curta metragem incorpora, na minha opnião muito bem, a dimensão negra e sarcástica do poema. Bukowski realizou várias gravações dos seus poemas, elas encontram-se com alguma facilidade na internet onde podem ser ouvidas ou adquiridas.
Robert Crumb ilustrou uma das curtas histórias deste escritor que viveu a maior parte da sua vida à margem da sociedade e do mundo literário e que diz ter sido o medo que o tornou escritor:
